I am selling my work truck that maybe is the most reliable, useable vehicle Ive owned. It just gets the job done.
3/4 ton clean frame & chassis, 6.0 V8, auto , 2WD , 4wheel disc. A/C works, heat works. Stock, quiet exhaust.
The 8ft bed is shot. the supports have all broken underneath & it rattles bad. Rear bumper is also shot. The tires have tread, but they also are not very good. And the drivers door has started sagging, needs an adjustment . (or hinges?)
That said ,It only needs 3 main things to be a reliable long distance truck:
#1 front wheel bearing is bad. Bad, but still drivable.
#2 Solve the riddle of the disappearing coolant. Its not a head gasket or anything....It leaks from underneath the overflow bottle, little less than a gallon a month-ish. Trans cooler lines seem to be a problem on these, I dont think that's the issue but I have not looked into it either, sooo...
#3 U joints. Drive shaft and the steering shaft joint. Pretty worn for sure.
There it is, warts and all. A reliable old truck that does what you need it to do, wherever you gotta go. Has an Alpine stereo with Alpine door speakers & Polk rear pillar speakers. (needs a sub to be a really nice system) I redid the headliner over 5 years ago & it still dont sag ;). Electric trailer brake.
Its a "point A to point B and back" truck right now because it needs help, but its worth the effort to put some work into.
