If you know of this amp, or have done some research, you know it's a great 3-channel amp made in the UK, with ample control configurations to really nail your tone in most any genre. Solid and well-made cabinet.
If you look at the panel in the pix, you'll see the various gain and tonal possibilities as well as a mix control for the reverb, which is plenty lush....All the channels and functions work as designed, and the blue switch lights on the panel all illuminate. The 3-channel/reverb footswitch FS-6 itself is a rare beast (only one I've ever seen is now $169 on ebay), and it is nicely weighted in thick-mill steel, with quality switches and the 15-pin setup, all of which work great. The green lamps on the FS light up as designed when deployed.
The driver is a Celestion Lead 80, and if you look at the back panel pic, you'll see the 'record out' , 'line out' and extension speaker switchable out. Also, the midi IN, OUT and THRU with storable capacity are on back panel, with typical effects send and receive.
This amp is loud and proud when you want it to be, and is truly awesome as far as preloading your three channels for instant 'live' stage use. Takes pedals extremely well, and has great Brit and Classic Rock tones dialed in easily! Comes with slant-front cover in thick material w/white edge piping.
These were outrageously expensive when new, as the UK Pound was so strong then, and as the only owner, I ponied up big as I REALLY dug the tones I could get from this beast. The Laney website post the mega-list of past and present celebrity users and endorsers.
As for price, these are pretty rare in the US, but two years ago, there were sales on Ebay and Reverb visible in Google cache, from $780-1250 actual closing prices, but they were pretty beat up. I think $700 is a good start here.
I have three Magnatone amps for sale as well. If interested, click on ‘more ads by this user’ link below.
