Position Overview
All Scrap Metal Recycling Inc. is seeking a skilled and reliable Recycling Machinery Maintenance & Repair Technician with 5 or more years of verifiable experience working on industrial and recycling equipment. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery used in metal recycling and material processing operations. The ideal candidate must have strong mechanical and electrical skills, be able to diagnose problems quickly, and work independently to ensure equipment uptime and safe operation across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
Perform maintenance and repairs on shredders, conveyors, balers, sorters, and related recycling equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
Conduct routine preventive maintenance and inspections on all machinery.
Fabricate, weld, and modify equipment as needed to maintain production flow.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and service manuals.
Maintain accurate service records and ensure timely reporting of completed work.
Work closely with the operations manager to schedule repairs and minimize downtime.
Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area, following all safety procedures.
Assist in equipment installations and upgrades as required.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of verifiable experience in heavy equipment or recycling machinery maintenance and repair.
Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
Welding and fabrication experience required.
Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics.
Must have own tools and reliable transportation.
Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to work independently.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor in industrial settings.
Experience with shredders, balers, or conveyors preferred.
