Unique vintage beer tankard service with tankard mugs and serving tray from Kromex Giftware circa 1976 ("service a biere"). Set still in original box with factory notation and mugs in plastic and appears to be unused. Great gift idea for collectors of mid-century modern items, Kromex or vintage crazy friends – or to press into your own service immediately!
Features:
· Chrome tray with four pewter colored mugs or tankards
· No chips, cracks, marks or repairs, and actually appear to be unused. Overall excellent vintage condition showing just typical signs of wear one might expect from many years of storage. Some of original plastic shrink film still attached to tray.
· Tray measures ~13-1/4” across. Tray is clean with intact label and in excellent condition with some small rust spots under lip on back (see photo).
· 4 Tankard beer mugs measure ~5-1/4” H x 3” across at top; 3-3/4” across at bottom; 4 ½” side to across handle. Handle is ~3-3/4” H top to bottom. ~12 oz capacity.
· Tankards are pewter in color and look like pewter but are actually glass with a pewter-like finish (factory note in box text: “These beautiful tankards are made of glass with special pewter-like finish…” along with care instructions et al. See photo.)
· This service has been packed away in storage for many years in original box. Box is intact but shows wear from storage (see representative photo) and is written on. Please advise if box is desired.
· Great pieces from this amazing and interesting mid-century modern/MCM American company and interesting collectible set. Usable as is.
