Ah, the perfect classic American Parlor Stove, that is NOT made in Asia! This is NO Asian “knock-off” junk! NOPE! This beautiful, never fired, functional work of art was manufactured by the WEIR STOVE Co. in Taunton Massachusetts, USA and it is numbered the #223. Everything is perfect about this masterpiece. She measures 37” H x 20” W x 28” D. Cute as a button and rare as a hen’s tooth it is ready to install to heat your space and warm your heart. All ancillaries are exact and fully functional. This stove is in museum quality condition and like any fine piece of furniture or art GEM it will take center stage to any living room, dining room or parlor.... any room! Exquisite beauty, detail and texture make it a worthy heirloom and it will work hard to drive down your ever-increasing heating bills. Standard 6" horizontal flue collar. Brought here to Big Bend 28 years ago to add to my collection it has never been fire…ever! This is truly rare and highly sought after USA made Parlor Stove. A “blast from the past”! I only have a few classic wood stoves left and this one is very special. It’s time for this old man in the woods to finally retire. Offered to you for just $750 OBO.
BTW, the parlor stove was the canvas on which great iron artists of the nineteenth century cast their many masterpieces. The large rectangular heaters take center stage in any living room, dining room or parlor by virtue of both their high-quality iron and beautiful designs.
Ornate scenes cast on the sides and face of the stove depicts angelic cherubs, mythological figures, elaborate floral designs and animal motifs. The detail, beauty and clarity of design are matched only by the conveniences of an airtight, overnight burn; large firebox; and easy side and top loading doors.
Parlor stoves of the “modern series” represent a split from the decadence of the Victorian era, instead enjoying the subtle, clean and defined designs of the turn of the century trend while still ensuring the most efficient burn available.
