Third Space Brewing is an award-winning production craft brewery located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We are a growing brewery with a passion for creating high-quality craft beer and a fun and welcoming “third space” for our customers (you have your home, you have your work, but everyone needs a third space). We have a tap room and beer garden on site in our 11,000 square foot brewing facility in the historic Menomonee River Valley, a summer beer garden in Elm Grove, and will soon be opening a restaurant, with a brewery and taproom in Menomonee Falls. Third Space Brewing currently sells beer in accounts throughout the state of Wisconsin.

Position Summary
Third Space Innovation Brewhouse in Menomonee Falls is seeking an organized,energetic and kind sous chef to support the head chef and kitchen staff in the culinary operation. As the sous chef, you’ll assist the head chef to ensure efficiency and consistency of the kitchen.


1-2 years of experience in a sous chef role in a full service, and from-scratch kitchen required
18+ years old required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
ServSafe Food Manager Certification required

Key Competencies

Ability to maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers, customers and vendors.
An excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
Proficient knife skills and portion controls
Effective verbal and written communication and time management skills
The ability to regularly stand, walk, talk, carry, bend, stoop, turn and lift in excess of 35lbs.
Knowledge of proper storage and food handling procedures
The ability to be an effective leader in the absence of the head chef
Lead by example and motivate others with constructive criticism

Essential Job Functions

Collaborate with head chef in all culinary operations
Uphold hygiene and safety standards in food preparation
Help cost recipes and monitor portion control to minimize waste
Act as manager on duty as scheduled, exhibiting leadership in absence of head chef
Ordering and monitoring food items
Cooking menu items on the line
Preparing food items for service(e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meats,or sauces & other foods)

Job Conditions

Commercial kitchen in a full service restaurant and brewery
Standard bar & restaurant conditions (i.e. wet floors, cold storage, hot equipment, etc)
Indoor space with additional outdoor patio seating
Required to be on your feet for 5-9 hours per shift
