Strong, smooth engine and transmission.
It will surprise you how genuinely quick off the line this puppy is; you’ll be squealing tires and burning rubber whenever you want. It’s a Toyota, so I expect it to run forever without the transmission problems the Dodge and Chrysler minivans have suffered.
This was my dad’s van. He passed away so I’m handling this sale for my mom as the surviving spouse. Dad was a careful driver and took great care of this minivan. Title in hand.
New tires with knee-deep tread. New battery too. You’re all set for winter. Just passed the emission test no problem.
Power side doors. Seating for 7; 2 captain chairs up front (with a nice flip-up center console/tray), 2 captain chairs in the middle, 3-passenger bench in the back. Rear bench splits 60/40 and each side can fold into the floor.
Lots of cargo room even with middle seats in and bench seat up. More room with bench folded into floor. Acres of room with bench folded in floor and middle seats removed.
Tradesmen and contractors could use this for hauling materials and tools — 4’x8’ sheets of plywood will lie flat and 12’ 2”x4”s fit inside. Roof rack for ladders and longer lumber.
This van excels at hauling kids and their sports equipment. It is a fantastic vehicle for family road-trips and camping adventures. Perhaps an off-grid van life is your calling?
For all its virtues, the van is not perfect:
- the glovebox latch broke, but I have a kludge fix that’s working better than my dad’s goofy fix;
- some minor rust on the body
- some interior stains on carpeting
- the automatic locks are bit wonky
- AC is patchy (on again, off again, may need recharging)
- was sideswiped and scraped on drivers side years ago (all fixed, but probably listed on CarFax: VIN 5TDZK23C98S142763)
- Tire pressure light is on
- Speedometer gauge illumination is spotty.
All in all, it’s a good vehicle and that’s what you’re looking for. So look at the pics and let me know when you want to come see it.
I’ll test drive it with you if you can persuade my wife you won’t kidnap me! I am available this Friday and Saturday (Sunday may be too snowy to do showings and test drives, as I have shoveling to do).
As for payment, I’m careful due to bad experiences in the past, so I’ll accept a cashiers check from the teller at your bank (we’ll go together) or cash counted and approved by the teller at my bank or my mom’s bank.
Hablo un poco Espanol, como un nino de dos anos, mas o menos. Te quieres mi carro bueno? Porque no?
