Beautiful reliable classic British sports car. This is the refined successor to the venerable Austin Healey 3000. Designed by one of the famous names in British motor history, Donald Healey to be more powerful (145hp), lighter and faster than the MGB (82hp) and TR6 (105hp). It uses the all aluminum overhead cam 16 valve Lotus 907 engine that went on to be used in the Lotus Elite, Esprit and Eclat.
This car was rebuilt in Georgia 10-15 years ago. I have their binder of notes but it does not document all of the work they did. The car was brought to Wisconsin about ten years ago. I have driven it about 1,000 miles a year as my fun summer car. Now it is your turn.
The car is not perfect. See photos. There is a crack in the dash, an old Bondo patch on the hood is now cracking, the clock and some interior lights do not work. The radio/tape player when turned on raises up the antenna, but the speakers do not work. The original soft top has shrunk slightly and has some tears. But it is a blast to drive with near 50/50 weight distribution and the powerful engine.
I have not needed to do much work on the car, a new clutch was the only major item.
The car comes with a factory hardtop, with electric defrost on the rear window, bra, luggage rack plus a box of manuals and parts. Good tires, stops quickly, starts easily.
