There's still time to contribute!
Call for art donations: the Racine Zoo is having a fundraiser for their very special breeding pair of endangered black rhinos.
The male, Kianga, is on long term loan from the Brookfield Zoo near Chicago, to join Timu, the Racine Zoo's female eastern black rhino.
Eastern black rhinos are critically endangered, numbering approximately 5,000 left in the world. The Racine zoo is part of an international effort by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Species Survival Plan to bring back this and other species from the brink of extinction.
The Racine Zoo is holding a fundraiser: Winos for Rhinos on March 4, 2017. They will be holding an auction and are looking for artists who have an interest in this cause. Art that is related to rhinos is great, but anything that promotes nature is very welcome.
