Old carriage lanterns modified to home electric lamps.
Selling a pair of carriage lanterns by Solar, model No. 1132, originally used on Model A Fords and horse-drawn buggies. The patent date stamped to neck reads ‘PAT JUNE 8 09’. Thats 1909 by the way. The metal case features a beveled glass door and sides with a facet cut round red glass piece to the back, an acorn burner to the interior, a kerosene reservoir below has been converted to electric to be used as decorative lamps. It has a hanging bracket to the side and a chimney at the top.
I tried to take pictures of any flaws. There's a small Crack in the glass on one lantern. They are in great condition due to being displayed indoors for the last 70+ years. My dad had florescent bulbs in them but you could do a neat old fashioned bulb too.
Asking $100 obo cash only. Pickup is in Sussex. If the listing is here, they're available.
