Selling a genuine, antique Chinese water tobacco pipe dating back to the late Qing Dynasty/early Republic period (circa 1880–1920s).
Materials & Authenticity:
Body: Hand-carved, translucent Water Buffalo Horn (not resin or plastic).
Metalwork: Solid silver. The bottom of the base bears a clear, authenticated Chinese hallmark reading "太原足銀" (Taiyuan Zu Yin), which translates to "Taiyuan City Pure Silver."
Design: Features beautiful, intricate antique silver repoussé work including a Dragon and Phoenix on the base, butterflies on the stem bands, and a sculpted Guardian Lion mask on the end cap.
Condition Note (Please Read Carefully):
This piece is completely authentic, but it is BROKEN. The conical silver water reservoir base has been sheared/snapped cleanly off from the main horn stem. I am selling this "as-is" for someone looking for a restoration project, an antique parts salvage, or to simply melt down/keep the antique pure silver mounts.
If this piece were intact, it would be a $400+ antique. Pricing it fairly based on the damage and the value of the solid antique silver.
Purchase Details:
Price: $150 (Firm on price given the silver value)
Payment: Cash, Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal.
Pickup: Local pickup here in Milwaukee.
Please review all photos to see the break.
