Antique Victorian Conductor's Music Stand Rare
Can anybody else imagine this being on the set of Phantom of the Opera.
I was told that this had come out of a very old Theater in Fond Du Lac Wisconsin, and went back to a time in history when they would have an orchestra or band.
It is very ornate, and has a lot of intricate applied scroll work. It is not perfect, but it is amazing that it has survived for so many years in this condition. Some of the paint has chipped off but it looks like the fancy work is still intact. It does have a cord on the bottom but it is not currently attached to the light sockets on top, and easier to remove the top for transporting it home. This piece would be worthy of restoration.
The only other one that I have ever been able to find was online, and it had a lot of damage, but still expensive. It would be very hard to compare them.
It still has the original label as shown, and it was loose when I bought it, and it just needs a couple of small tacks to put it back in place where it was originally.
It stands about 46 inches tall and is about 26 inches wide.
Someone might even want to bring it back home to Chicago because it came from Gallagher Orchestra Equipment.
This is a cash and local pick up item.
