Each person makes a difference in someone’s life. Hospice volunteers make a difference in the part of living that is often called dying. Our volunteers provide companionship and emotional support to the patient and the family, and relief for caregivers who need a break to allow them time for shopping or medical appointments of their own. Volunteers may run errands for a family, entertain a young child who needs extra attention, play cards or read to a patient. Perhaps the most important job of our volunteers is listening and being present with our patients wherever they are.
1. Become a Member. Our two-step Registration Form allows you to enter your membership information, select a volunteer service category and enter your experience in the service categories you have selected.
2. Verify your Membership. Once you submit the registration form you will receive an email welcoming you to WomenOnCall.org.
3. Login to Your Personalized Member Center. From your Member Center you will be able to access the WomenOnCall.org services:
• Manage your Membership Information. Upload a resume, share contact information, upload a photo or logo, change or add new service categories that interest you, etc.
• Enter the dates you are available to volunteer, or choose ‘ongoing.’
• Receive Alerts from Non-profit Organizations that wish to utilize your services. Member non-profits will search through service categories and select the volunteers with the skills they are seeking. They will then send an alert with details about the opportunity. Once you receive an alert you may click “ACCEPT” and contact the non-profit off-line to work out the details of the request.
• View Non-profit Organizations and Opportunities. You can also proactively view all of the opportunities available and select one of interest, or reach out to non-profits and develop a relationship to see where your skills might fit their needs.
The drive is held at the MPTV Studios located on the downtown MATC Campus. We provide secure under building parking free of charge, snacks or a light meal (depending on the shift), non-alcoholic beverages and training on each shift.

The purpose of this study is to find the cause and effect relationship between acid backup from the stomach and certain diseases of the food pipe and upper airways.
The research results will be used to help people with reflux disease and complications of reflux disease in the future.

Since 1999 the ex-Convent San Giorgio, a Volunteering Permanent Centre, has hosted hundreds of volunteers in different occasions (national and international workcamps, European Volunteering Service, etc).
The Convent is situated in the region of Abruzzo, centre of Italy, about 150 km away from Rome. It has been fully restored by the local institution Mountain Community and furnished following as much as possible the "static free" standards.
The project aims to bring new economic, tourist and especially cultural and spiritual movements in a quite isolated area. It deals with sustainable living, no waste, recycling and clever use of energies.
As every year international volunteer groups will spend some days at the ex Convento San Giorgio: a good chance to meet people from all over the world, to know a bit of Italian culture, getting in touch with permaculture and sustainable living; all this while staying in a Convent of the XVII century. The tasks of the participants change according to the period of the year, the season and the weather, but can be summarized in: • maintenance of the structure (cleaning the Convent, painting walls, restoring windows,...) • feeding the animals (chickens, ducks, sheep, goats, donkeys) • working in the garden

As a volunteer, you can make a difference in the lives of the people we serve. After completing our special training, you may visit our patients in facilities or in their homes, provide support in the office, or help with special projects. Volunteering for hospice can be a fun, rewarding, and life changing experience. You will soon find that you receive a lot more than you give. The locations and times you volunteer are flexible according to your schedule and interests!
We also have opportunities for professionals to volunteer with our organization. Massage or pet therapists, beauticians, lawyers, and financial counselors, for example, can all impact the lives of our patients and families.
The next group training is scheduled for November 17th or 21st, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. If you are not available either of those days, individual training can be arranged.
In the course of the show, we want our viewers to understand why people hoard things, what steps can be taken to deal with a serious hoarding situation and how shining a light on this common problem can lead to positive change for the people involved. Researchers in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Medical College of Wisconsin are seeking healthy volunteers ages 70-85 with no symptoms of heartburn to participate in a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) study. MADACC has several volunteer opportunities available. Our volunteer program is based on a level system. All volunteers start at level 1. Level 1 volunteers assist the Animal Care Technicians by maintaining a clean and sanitary environment for the animals. All volunteers must complete 16 hours of Level 1 volunteer duty before transitioning into a level 2 position. Level 1 gives you the opportunity to get familiar with MADACC, our policies, staff and building. Starting out here helps you transition smoothly into the level 2 positions.
