I love the apartment I live in and need a roommate asap.

It has pretty much eveything you could want in a living space... two balconies (front and back), it's an upper unit (so more safety), is energy efficient because of the new windows that were installed, free laundry in the basement, tall ceilings, lots of storage space in the basement, hard wood floors throughout except for the bathroom (which has heated tile), and a claw foot tub. It is pretty much fully furnished other than YOUR bedroom and a smaller computer/art/craft/whatever area. The kitchen has a gas stove and stainless steel appliances, a pantry, an island and a small table. The apartment is tastefully decorated as well- Modern but artistic, warm and funky too.

I am a university graduate (BA), an artist, and I run my own "environmentally friendly" cleaning business. I do not smoke cigarettes, and the person that I am looking for MUST smoke outside. Pot is fine. I am a very clean person, and will expect you to be the same... You like a tidy, organized and clean space and are willing to put in a few hours on a weekly basis to help to keep the apartment looking and feeling awesome. This is very important to me. Financially, you're able to afford $375 per month plus utlities and a $350 security deposit. The utilities go from about $100 to $230 depending on whether it is summer or winter. Also, I have wireless internet and that only costs $18 per month per person. The lease is month-to-month, with a 30 day written notice.

I have a cat, a kitten, and a young dog. The kitten is a bit hyper right now, but adorable, and the cat is mellow and friendly, and my dog is an angel. So, you should be the kind of person who enjoys the company of animals. You are not responsible for them but if you want to be their friend, that is wonderful. There is a private fenced-in yard too, which is nice, but like the balconies, more for the summer. Street parking is a breeze, there are always spots right in front of the house (which is a duplex), and it is only $12 per quater (or season).

Some important things that I should point out that were very problematic with my former roommate are this is not a "party" house. Especially not an "after bar" place to bring people and turn on music loudly. Occassionally we can turn the music up and have a few friends over... no problem. I love cooking and having a few friends over for drinks and dinner. Also, you have to keep up with sharing the chores. I think a graduate student or a young professional would be ideal, but it doesn't matter as long as we are compatible. Also, "sleepover's" should be limited to no more than once a week (I am looking for one roommate, not two). I would prefer someone between 27 and 37 as far as being on the same page, but I am flexible.

This is long, sorry, but it is better to lay it out now than later. I am a vegetarian/vegan. I don't mind if you aren't as long as you rinse and clean your dishes after you eat and supply some of your own pots and pans. I recycle and would expect my roommate to want to do the same. I'm the type of person who prefers to ride my bike instead of driving, and I like the local clubs and bars.

I might come across as intense but I am friendly and easy going as long as you keep your word. Male or female, any race, gay or straight...

My roommate is moving to Madison for a job so I'm searching for someone to take his place. He owns the house we live in now, so he would become our landlord. He's remodeled the lower bathroom and the bathroom upstairs is in the process of being fixed up from a half to a full bathroom. He also added a sun-room in back of the house which is great during the summer. He's also planning on adding a heater out there so it can be used in the winter, too =)

The house is all hardwood floors downstairs. The stairs leading up to the office and the office are carpeted, but the bedroom is wood flooring.

Water is included in the rent, and the WE Energies bill is $70 a month (each, for two people) on the budget plan. There is a garage with one parking spot behind the house, and a basement with free laundry facilities and lots of storage.

Everything is more or less furnished downstairs, all you would have to do is take care of what you want upstairs.

I think ideally this would be a good deal for couples or two people who want to split the bedroom and office upstairs. I'm open to having either a male or female roommate. I've had both and don't prefer either as long as they are at least as clean and organized in the common areas (I could care less what your bedroom looks like).

About me: I'm a 20 year old male. I work full time as a bartender and go to school full time at UWM. I'm not home too often because I'm busy and I don't typically have people over. I'm pretty quiet at home but I'm still friendly and outgoing.

A little about the place- It is a very nice, well-kept house located 4 blocks from campus and four from North Ave.. There are 4 bedrooms upstairs from a nice sized kitchen and living room.
