Two points in response to your comments. First, do you really believe they are “Fringe Freak Frauds” or are you throwing a bomb here? (Why do you think they are fringe? Are they any more fringe then our founding fathers.) If you truly believe this you will be burned as well.

I went to the rally in Milwaukee to see what types of people these were. These were not fringe folks at all. I saw people from age 18 to 80 and it was clear that they were not organized in the way that the left is with production signs etc. These were people who have reached a tipping point with their government and needed a place to vent which leads to my second point below. What hasn’t helped in slowing the movement is that the movement has been demonized by the left and the press. By example, our own Contessa Brewer injected race into this issue when a gentleman with a gun showed up at a rally. She had the video edited to be a tight shot of the man’s back with the gun. She said these were angry white people who were racist and pre-paring for violence. The fact was other news organizations had video of this man and he was black (http://bitsblog.florack.us/?p=23090 – watch both videos). Further, whether you agree with them or not, or whether you believe they are all real or not, when the left calls their feelings fake, aka Astroturf, you disenfranchise people and swell their ranks by pushing in people who are on the fence.

The movement right now is in such a fluid and dynamic state. Rush, Beck, Sean who ever, may support them but I am not sure that the tea party fully supports them. Yes, these people generally speak of smaller government, fewer taxes etc and the crowd generally likes those topics. But these people are not leaders, in fact the only thing which keeps this group from truly exploding in my opinion is that they haven’t found their leader yet. They are mad as hell because they feel that they are working for the government which is backwards to them. They also feel, and in many cases rightfully so, that those elected are not listening to them. The only way to resolve this then is to stand-up and say we do not except this two party system and we will change it. When they find their leader and become organized they will be an effective group. Who knows, maybe we would benefit from a tri-cameral government.
