Hetchins Nulli Secundus 23" Frame & fork from 1952. A Rare model, with a very ornate lug pattern.

The Hetchins Nuli Secundus has one of the rarer lug patterns, it is probably the one nearest to being called "Art deco" in styling. This is the sellers favourite Hetchins model.

Offered here is an unusual proposition, a genuine original Hetchins Nulli Secundus frame number E 241198 from Febuary 1952 (with straight stays).Although looking to be in very good condition it is being sold as suitable for renovation. A previous owner some years ago sent this frame to Bob Jackson in Leeds(England) for an expensive major renovation for new enamel and decals, for reasons unknown to this seller the preparation was not properly and the finished effect is very nice, but very slightly flawed hence it being offered for restoration. The two known faults are:- very slight pitting under the chrome on the chain and seat stays (these should have been filled properly with suitable filler-paint and not re-plated) and, on the seat-tube about 4" under the saddle bolt there is a mark on the tubing ( loose seat post?), this seems to be a visual flaw only. A 27.2 seat post will fit properly into the frame. Because of these known flaws it is being offered at a discount price and offers a rare model at an attractive price.

At the time of these renovations the original rear drop-outs were also changed for very useful Campag drop-outs with a gear hanger. The actual paintwork on this frame is very nice and looks particularly attractive, it will be said to destroy it.

The successful buyer has the choice of living with the above minor distractions or using this as a gorgious comfortable daily rider that will draw crowds when you ride by.

The flaws listed are purely cosmetic and only noticeable when you look closely and will not effect the frames ride.

I've a full set of detailed photos of the frame as well as the jpgs below. My asking price is $895 or best offer. If she did not have the purely cosmetic flaws I would be selling her for much more, probably $1200-$1400.
